They were invited by Intel to attend because the girls won second prize in the National Intel Young Scientist Competition 2014. Al Worden is a US spaceman who flew to the moon on board the Apollo 15 mission.

Digital Strategy for Schools – Focus groups with parents
The Department of Education & Skills is preparing a new digital strategy for schools. This strategy must address new policy opportunities arising from major developments in curricular reform, digital content and new technologies. As part of the strategy development we are seeking the views of stakeholders.
We have carried out a survey of teachers and principals, sought submissions from the public and we held focus groups with students. We now wish to hear the views of the parents.
The Department recognises that technology plays a big part in young people’s lives and that in many cases young people use technology more outside of the classroom. Your views are important to us and we would appreciate if you could participate in one of the focus groups. A number of sessions which are split into (i) parents of Primary school children (ii) parents of Post Primary school children will take place across the country. Details are set out below.
